Project 3: Scoping Review and Cataloguing of Existing Knowledge About the Epidemiology of Sepsis
Project Summary
This completed project conducted a comprehensive literature review on the epidemiology (i.e. numbers and distribution) of sepsis. Due to evolving definitions and challenges in recognition by healthcare professionals, understanding the true burden and distribution of sepsis has been difficult.
To address this, the project summarized existing research on sepsis epidemiology and created a compiled resource. This summary is a valuable tool for patients, families, healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers, providing a centralized repository of knowledge to support informed decision-making, improve care, and advance research.
